Smoky post.

From today, tobacco smoking has been barred in all public places in India including bars & restaurants. The choice of date was carefully chosen by the government as today is also the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the nation.

Mahatma Gandhi's predictable views on smoking are hard to come by although this weird excerpt from Vol 1. of his autobiography tends to associate smoking with stealing & suicide. One vice leading to another & obstructing the pursuit of "truth"!

Just wonder what would Bapuji (Gandhi) say to Chachaji (Nehru), if he had been alive today to catch Nehru lighting a cigarette inside a train compartment?
